As part of inewsource's audience growth team, I ideated and implemented story-specific and site-wide audience engagement strategies to promote the nonprofit news organization's investigative reporting. My work included writing and producing newsletters, drafting and posting social media content, assisting in story development, writing headlines, and more.

Education Reporter
I was responsible for reporting on Stanislaus County's 26 K-12 school districts with a focus on covering inequities. I reported and wrote student-centered stories on post-pandemic mental health challenges, political engagement in local government, and academic recovery from distance learning. I also moderated a virtual event with an administrator, teacher, doctor, and student to answer parent questions about returning to school amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a teacher candidate, I completed university coursework while student teaching 4 days a week at a high school and middle school in San Diego County. In addition to my credential in English Language Arts, I took an Arts Education class in which I learned strategies for arts integration.
