September to December 2025
I taught two sections of 10th grade Honors Humanities and assisted with yearbook and AVID classes.
I promoted collaborative learning by designing a discussion-based social justice unit culminating in a Socratic seminar. I fostered creative thinking through assessments such as a “one-pager” representing Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” and a “mind map” reflecting Jason Reynold’s novel in verse Long Way Down.

I taught three sections each of 7th grade English Language Arts and Personalized Learning.
While delivering instruction on writing creative narratives and argumentative essays, I used education technology such as Pear Deck to promote active learning during direct instruction and MagicSchool AI to facilitate inquiry-based writing revisions.

I was responsible for reporting on Stanislaus County's 26 K-12 school districts with a focus on covering inequities. I reported and wrote student-centered stories on post-pandemic mental health challenges, political engagement in local government, and academic recovery from distance learning. I also moderated a virtual event with an administrator, teacher, doctor, and student to answer parent questions about returning to school amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
